Day 01: Arrive Cochin 

On arrival at Cochin Airport, meet and transfer to hotel.  Check in at hotel and relax.  After lunch, you can go for a city tour of Cochin, the palm green commercial capital of Kerala, also known as the 'queen of Arabian Sea'.  Visit Jew Town, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, Bolgatty Palace, St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, etc.  Overnight stay at hotel. Day 02: Munnar
After breakfast drive to Munnar (140 km, 4 hrs drive), which will take you through a number of cardamom, rubber and tea plantations.  Munnar is at a height of 4420 feet above sea level and is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams.  Munnar offers spectacular views of the craggy peaks, manicured tea plantations, picturesque towns and winding lanes.  On arrival check into hotel.  After lunch half day sightseeing tour covering Echo Point, famous for its Echo Phenomenon, Mattupetty Lake & Dam, Lock Heart Gap known for its panoramic views.  Evening free at leisure.  Dinner and overnight stay at hotel. Day 03: Munnar
After breakfast, visit Eravikulam National Park, the home of Nilgiri Thar.  Anamudi peak, which is at an altitude of 2695m above sea level is situated in the southern region of the Park.  After lunch day free for optional tours.  Rest of the day at leisure.  Dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 04:  Munnar - Thekkady (Periyar)
After breakfast drive to Thekkady, a scenic two and a half hours drive from Munnar (110Kms), if interested, visit a Tea factory on the way.   Check in to hotel.  Afternoon, Boat Safari in the Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, one of the most fascinating Wild Life Reserves in India.  The major attraction at Periyar is to witness the large herd of wild elephants that come down to the lake for water.  Evening, visit the Spice Market where you can pick up some fragrant spices or handcrafted jewellery.  Dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 05:  Thekkady - Kumarakom
After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom and check into a backwater resort.  Rest of the day at leisure for own activities. You can opt for an Ayurvedic massage at the resort.  Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
 
Day 06:  Kumarakom - Alleppey (Houseboat)
Morning, you can opt to visit the nearby Bird Sanctuary.  Alleppey is known as the Venice of the East, has the largest network of canals and is the centre for backwater cruises in Kerala. On arrival check in to a Houseboat. Cruise around backwater villages of Alleppey.  The cozy double bedroom, the sit-out, the sundeck, the well stocked kitchen and the modern toilette give the guests a feeling of being at home in the Houseboat.  The Houseboat moves through small narrow canals, lakes & lagoons for the guests to see traditional fishing, farming below sea level, etc., to get a brief memorable picture of Kerala backwaters.  Overnight in a Deluxe Houseboat. Day 07:  Alleppey – Marari Village Beach Resort
Marari originates from “Mararikulam", one of the local fishing villages located between the port city of Cochin and Alleppey, where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago, with the men going out to sea each day to earn a living bringing in their daily catch. Completely new to the holiday maker, ’Fishermen village’ offers endless miles of superb sandy beaches backed by swaying palms.  Overnight stay at Marari Village Beach Resort. Day 08: Depart Cochin
After breakfast, transfer to Cochin airport for your return flight, after a memorable holiday in Kerala. (B)
